REFURBISHED HEAVY DUTY BOARD CUTTER

The heavy duty board cutter is used for fast, clean cutting, trimming and scoring of large rigid sheets. It handles tough materials that used to need a power saw, including Gatorfoam and other hard-surfaced foam panels, foamcore board, foamed PVC, polystyrene, acrylic and glass, in sheets up to 320 cm long and 30 mm thick.

A refurbished heavy duty board cutter is a pre-owned board cutter that Crest has fully inspected, cleaned, tested and restored to reliable working condition. Because Crest built the machine, it is refurbished and validated by the original manufacturer, so you get proven cutting performance at a lower investment than a new unit.

The heavy duty board cutter cuts and scores a wide range of rigid materials up to 30 mm thick. It cuts foamcore board and Gatorfoam up to 19 mm, foamed PVC (Forex) up to 10 mm with the heated blade, and rigid polystyrene and cardboard up to 3 mm. It scores clear rigid polystyrene, acrylic and glass up to 4 mm. Other substrates are often possible, since the machine was developed and tested in Crest’s own R&D department.

The heavy duty board cutter offers a maximum cutting length of 320 cm (126″) and a cutting speed up to 60 cm/s. The upright design keeps the footprint compact while still handling full-size boards in a single pass.

The heavy duty board cutter uses a blade-based cutting technology that completely eliminates the irritating dust and fumes produced by saws and routers. This keeps the work area clean and healthier for operators, with no extraction system required for the cut itself.

The heavy duty board cutter fully cuts through softer and mid-density boards such as foamcore, Gatorfoam, cardboard and foamed PVC, and it scores harder or brittle materials such as clear polystyrene, acrylic and glass up to 4 mm so they can be snapped cleanly. A single blade handles soft substrates, while the variable speed feature and the blade guide in the rear carriage handle hard substrates.

The heavy duty board cutter combines a laser-guided cutting line, teach-in for repetitive work, adjustable acceleration and an adjustable pressure bar for precise, repeatable results. Short cycle times, high cutting speed and easy knife changes keep production moving, which makes it well suited to sign makers and display producers running batches.

The heavy duty board cutter needs a 230 volt / 50 to 60 Hz power supply and a compressed-air supply of 6 bar at 200 l/min during operation. In the upright working position it stands 410 cm high and 280 cm wide over the rulers, and it weighs around 340 kg, so plan the floor space and access accordingly.
